The feeling that the world is turning small and homogeneous is widespread. People use the term "glocal" to refer to the mixture of global and local elements. Such a mixture has direct effects on local identities. Sometimes people's reaction is the rejection of new things, and the reinforcement of the traditional and conservative ones. However, on other occasions, changes are perceived as a factor of improvement.
In this section of the new permanent rooms of L'ETNO, we invite you to reflect on some of the effects that globalisation has provoked in our cities: architectonic standardisation, gentrification, change of mobility patterns or the new working cultures. However, all this co-exists with local elements which are perceived as traditional elements of the Valencian cities.
