The museum is located in the old local slaughterhouse. In addition to the permanent exhibition, dedicated to the Huerta culture, there are also educational facilities particularly interesting for schoolchildren. Thus, it has large cages for contemplating domestic animals, fields for practical plant growing activities and a workshop classroom. The Museu Valencià d'Etnologia and the Museu de L'Horta have been collaborating for years in the transfer and exchange of objects from their collections and in the organisation of educational campaigns on the agriculture typical in this area.

 

In 2013 the Museu Valencià d'Etnologia proceeded to remodel the permanent exhibition since fourteen years after its inauguration several changes were necessary. The objects were cleaned, restored and rearranged, and new artwork was put in place in order to make the visit more enjoyable and easier to understand. In addition, the section dedicated to the cultivation of tiger nuts, one of the defining agricultural activities in the area, was expanded.
