The main objective of this exhibition is to disseminate the Valencian Semana Santa Marinera, a unique feast which was born from the connection with the culture of sea-faring people who inhabited, and continue to do so, this very particular space: the Poblados Marítimos of Valencia [seaside villages near the city].
Fiestas valencianas exhibits 51 photographs dating between the beginning and the middle of the 20th century depicting 10 festivals of the Valencian Community: San Antonio Abad, Fallas, Semana Santa Marinera, Corpus Christi, Moros y Cristianos, Romerías, Bous al carrer, Misteri d'Elx, Mare de Déu de la Salut, and the Enfarinats.
As part of its support for local authorities and educational institutions, the Museum runs a programme of touring exhibitions. These are reduced easily transported versions of many of the Museum's exhibition productions.
They are offered in four circuits: provincial, regional, national and international.
